Baghdad: First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandlawi, expressed his appreciation for the significant efforts exerted by the Accountability and Justice Commission in vetting the names of candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mandlawi highlighted that implementing these legal procedures contributes to safeguarding Iraq’s emerging democratic experience and reinforces citizens’ confidence in the election outcomes and the resulting political system.

Al-Mandlawi emphasized that disqualifying anyone proven to have affiliations with the brutal Ba’athist regime from participating in the elections is both a national and ethical duty. He praised this step for its tribute to all components of the Iraqi people who suffered during that dark period.

He also stressed the importance of all national forces supporting this legal process to ensure the preservation of democratic gains and the stability of the political process.
