Karbala: First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi called for a comprehensive and transparent investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident and bring those responsible to justice.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mandalawi expressed deep regret and sadness over the collapse of the Al-Atishi Bridge, which was under construction in the Al-Hussainiya area of the Karbala Governorate. The tragic incident resulted in the death and injury of several individuals. He emphasized the necessity of a thorough investigation to identify the true causes of the collapse and to hold accountable any parties or individuals found guilty of negligence.

Al-Mandalawi stressed that the Parliament would closely monitor the outcomes of the investigation conducted by the appointed committee, ensuring that justice is served. He assured that those found responsible would face severe penalties. Additionally, he extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families, praying for mercy for the deceased, patience and solace for their families, and a swift recovery for the injured.
