Al-Mandlawi Stresses Need for Action at Arab-Islamic Summit Against Zionist Terrorism

Baghdad: The Head of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council and First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandlawi, emphasized the importance of the upcoming Arab-Islamic Summit in addressing Zionist terrorism in the region. He expressed hope that the Doha Summit would serve as a turning point for converting rhetoric into tangible action, rather than merely being a stage for speeches of solidarity and condemnation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mandlawi stated that the emergency summit, set to take place in Qatar’s capital, Doha, is a response to a recent Zionist attack on the residence of members of the Hamas negotiating delegation. He underscored the expectation that the summit would challenge the disregard for international law and efforts to impose terrorism on the region’s countries and peoples. Al-Mandlawi noted the significant responsibility of Arab and Islamic leaders at the summit to uphold the dignity and future of their nations.

He elaborated on the exceptional and dangerous circumstances currently facing the region, highlighting the importance of the summit as a pivotal event at this sensitive time. Al-Mandlawi called for decisive and binding decisions that align with the critical challenges to Arab and Islamic national security. He emphasized recommendations that would pressure the international community to enforce international law and respect state sovereignty, while also addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Al-Mandlawi concluded by stating that the outcomes of this summit will have a profound impact on the future of the Middle East, potentially steering it towards stability and development or further conflict and violations.
