Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandalawi confirmed today, Monday, that the draft law on the return of real estate contributes to enhancing stability in various regions.
His media office stated in a statement that “Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandalawi chaired an expanded meeting with the head of the government committee for Article (140) of the Constitution, Hadi Al-Amiri, in the presence of Deputy Speaker of the Council, Shahwan Abdullah, heads of parliamentary blocs and committees, and members of the parliamentary committee on Article (140).”
The statement added that “the meeting discussed the results of the work of the government committee, and the completed stages of implementing Article 140 in cooperation with the ministries and relevant authorities.”
Al-Mandlawi stressed – according to the statement – that “the council is keen to legislate laws that would lift the injustice from citizens who were harmed by the decisions of the dissolved Revolutio
nary Command Council and the unjust policies of the defunct regime,” adding that “justice for the oppressed by restoring their usurped rights contributes to strengthening security, political and social stability.” Al-Mandlawi pointed out that “Kirkuk Governorate enjoys a special status in the draft law to return properties to their owners covered by some decisions of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council, and that its stability requires maintaining cooperation between the three authorities and taking into account the sensitivity of this file by various political forces.”
