Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandlawi, held a meeting with the Minister of Migration and Displacement, Evan Faeq Jabro, along with several undersecretaries and senior staff from the Ministry, and a number of MPs. The focus of the meeting was on permanently closing the file of the displaced people.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mandlawi acknowledged the humanitarian efforts made by the Ministry and its effective coordination with relevant ministries, institutions, and international organizations concerned with human rights. These efforts are aimed at monitoring the conditions of displaced individuals, facilitating their return to safe original areas, and addressing the needs of returnees and displaced persons.
Al-Mandlawi emphasized the House of Representatives’ full support for the Ministry’s initiatives to resolve the displacement issue urgently. He instructed the concerned parliamentary committees to maintain continuous coordination with the Ministry of Immigration and other government agencies to overcome existing challenges and implement urgent solutions. Discussions also included increasing the Ministry’s budget allocations and ensuring the availability of necessary funds to support its operations.
