Baghdad: Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani met with Sheikh Sattar Jabbar Helou, the head of the Mandaean community in Iraq and globally, at his official office on Tuesday. During their meeting, Al-Mashhadani expressed strong support for the constitutional rights of the Mandaean community.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mashhadani stated, “The Mandaeans are an integral component of the fabric of our Iraqi people, and they are a true partner in building the state and society.” He assured that the Parliament is committed to upholding their constitutional rights and is eager to address their demands, ensuring necessary services are provided to their communities.

Sheikh Sattar Jabbar Helou conveyed his gratitude to the Parliament Speaker for the meeting. He appreciated Al-Mashhadani’s commitment to supporting the Mandaean community and all Iraqi components, emphasizing the importance of enhancing coexistence and societal peace.
