Baghdad: Speaker of the Council of Representatives Mahmoud al-Mashhadani stressed, “Iraq is always keen on the issues and concerns of the nation.” In a speech during the opening of the Arab Parliament session on Monday in Baghdad, al-Mashhadani emphasized the importance of the sessions of the Arab Parliament and previous committees as an opportunity to strengthen Arab solidarity in light of current challenges.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Mashhadani condemned the crimes committed by the Zionist occupation against the Palestinian people in Gaza, describing them as exceeding all standards of war. He highlighted the importance of the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad next month, urging investment in strengthening Arab cooperation and combating terrorism. Al-Mashhadani affirmed Iraq’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause politically, historically, and popularly.

Al-Mashhadani praised the presence of the Arab delegations, viewing it as a sign of confidence from Arab countries in Iraq’s ability to organize and host important international and regional events. He called for Arab unity and joint action to achieve security and stability and support the Palestinian cause, expressing hope for realistic recommendations that support the Palestinian cause and Arab interests.
