Baghdad: The Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, has highlighted Iraq’s dedication to fostering improved cooperation with Jordan across various sectors. This commitment was underscored during a meeting with Maher Al-Tarawneh, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Baghdad, who extended his congratulations to Al-Mashhadani on his recent appointment as the head of the Council.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mashhadani reiterated the significance of Iraqi-Jordanian relations, emphasizing Iraq’s keen interest in enhancing collaborative efforts to benefit both nations. The dialogue between the two officials also covered recent regional developments, notably the Zionist aggression on Lebanon and Palestine.

The statement released by the Council of Representatives detailed Al-Mashhadani’s condemnation of the violence against Palestinian and Lebanese civilians, calling for international solidarity on these humanitarian issues. The meeting reflected mutual inte
