Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Mahmoud al Mashhadani returned to Baghdad on Monday after participating in the 38th conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union held in Algeria.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from his media office confirmed that al Mashhadani attended the conference alongside several other heads of Arab parliaments and councils.
The statement noted that the conference sessions featured extensive discussions on regional and international issues, with the Palestinian issue being a primary focus. Additionally, participants deliberated on ways to develop the Union’s charter and enhance joint Arab parliamentary action to address current challenges.
Al Mashhadani also delivered Iraq’s speech at the conference and engaged in a series of bilateral meetings with his Arab counterparts. These discussions centered on enhancing cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and other Arab countries.
