Baghdad: Al-Minaa returned from Baghdad with a single point snatched from their hosts, Al-Zawraa, in the match held at the latter’s stadium for the first round of the Iraqi Stars League.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Zawraa started strongly, pressing Al-Minaa to score and control the game. The Seagulls were the more dangerous side during the first half, which ended in a goalless draw.

In the second half, the dynamic shifted as Al-Minaa continued their advances towards Al-Zawraa’s goal, creating several dangerous chances that nearly changed the score, were it not for the haste of their strikers and the alertness of Al-Zawraa’s defense. The Seagulls pressed hard in the final minutes, hoping to secure three points, but the Sailors (Al-Minaa) prevented them from achieving their goal, and the match ended in a goalless draw, with each team earning one point.
