Baghdad: Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, hosted a high-level meeting with Major General Daminan Walert, Assistant to the French Air Operations, and Major General Thierry Caprin from the Planning and Joint Operations Department at the French General Staff. The meeting, which took place on Sunday in al-Muhammadawi's office, was attended by the French delegation and focused on the evolving capabilities of the Iraqi security forces.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Muhammadawi emphasized the continuous development of Iraqi security forces, attributing their progress to the extensive training and experience acquired during the battles against the terrorist ISIS gangs. He highlighted the ongoing efforts of the security forces in pursuing the remnants of these defeated gangs, underscoring the importance of their evolving capabilities.

The French delegation commended the Iraqi security forces for their significant progress and the prevailing security stability in Iraq. They also acknowledged the profound bilateral relationship between Iraq and France, which has been strengthened through mutual cooperation.

Al-Muhammadawi expressed appreciation for the collaboration between Iraq and France, particularly during the fight against ISIS. He noted France's role in providing advice, training assistance, and expertise exchange. Additionally, he reiterated Iraq's commitment to enhancing coordination with all friendly nations through bilateral agreements, ensuring alignment with constitutional and legal frameworks.
