Kirkuk: Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, visited the Kirkuk Operations Sector today, emphasizing the necessity for vigilance and full readiness among the security forces.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Joint Operations Command released a statement detailing that General Al-Muhammadawi inspected the Kirkuk Operations Command Sector alongside several command staff members. During the visit, he was briefed on the security operations and unit deployments in the Zgheiton Valley. The briefing included updates on initiatives by the Military Engineering within the Eighth Division, focusing on projects aimed at enhancing security, stability, and preventing terrorist presence in the valley.
General Al-Muhammadawi conducted a meeting with forces from the 8th Division of the Iraqi Army. He conveyed greetings from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to all security units and agencies, providing numerous recommendations for achieving integrated security operations. He emphasized the importance of adhering to military protocols and unifying security and intelligence efforts.
In addition to his activities with the army, Al-Muhammadawi paid a visit to the Kirkuk Police Command, where he was welcomed by the Police Commander. In a meeting attended by department directors, he highlighted the critical need for coordination between the army and police to ensure ongoing security and deliver high-level security outcomes for citizens.
Al-Muhammadawi’s visit also included an expanded meeting at the Kirkuk Operations Command, which saw participation from leaders across army and police formations, federal police forces, border forces, the Popular Mobilization Authority, and various security and intelligence departments. He praised the accelerating pace of security operations and the fight against terrorism, asserting that terrorist elements lack the capability to directly confront security forces. He reiterated the importance of vigilance, caution, full readiness, and strategic planning for preemptive operations.
