Baghdad: Al-Mustansiriya University and the Northern Technical University have agreed to enhance academic cooperation and expand partnership prospects between Iraqi higher education institutions. The presidents of Al-Mustansiriya University, Safaa Taqi Al-Issawi, and the Northern Technical University, Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, have committed to strengthening academic cooperation and expanding partnerships among Iraq’s higher education institutions.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Issawi made an official visit to the Northern Technical University, where an extensive meeting was held to discuss joint cooperation in academic, research, and administrative fields. This visit led to the signing of an academic cooperation agreement, aligning with the developmental vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The agreement aims at knowledge and institutional integration and the exchange of expertise among Iraqi public universities.
The agreement outlines joint frameworks for work in crucial areas covering academic, research, and teaching fields. Significant emphasis is placed on development by adopting systematic plans to enhance the capacities of administrative and teaching staff at both universities. This approach relies on utilizing shared expertise and applying modern scientific practices.
Both universities affirmed that the agreement marks a genuine starting point and a practical step towards aligning institutional efforts and investing available knowledge resources. The visit also included a field tour of several scientific facilities and academic institutions affiliated with the Northern Technical University. During the tour, the President of Al-Mustansiriya University observed the educational and research infrastructure, including specialized laboratories and modern scientific centers, as well as key development projects that support the university environment and enhance the quality of education and scientific research.
