Al-Mustansiriya University President Engages in Strategic Academic Discussions at Russian Universities Forum


Moscow: Al-Mustansiriya University President Safaa Taqi Al-Issawi participated in the Russian Universities Forum as part of his official visit to Russia. The forum was organized by the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), a prominent Russian academic institution specializing in political studies and international relations.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, this participation is part of Al-Issawi’s official visit to Russia, aimed at strengthening scientific and academic cooperation between Iraqi universities and their Russian counterparts. The university president engaged in a series of meetings with presidents of Russian and international universities, discussing the development of academic exchange programs and joint research projects. The discussions also focused on opening new avenues of cooperation in training, curriculum development, and modern specializations.



On the sidelines of the forum, Al-Issawi met with the Iraqi Cultural Counselor in Moscow, Nazir Jassim Mohammed. They explored ways to support Iraqi students studying at Russian universities and to expand scientific cooperation between Al-Mustansiriya University and the Cultural Attach©, aligning with the priorities of higher education in Iraq.



The forum featured broad participation from representatives of Russian, Iraqi, Arab, and international universities. Discussions centered on developing higher education, enhancing opportunities for international cooperation, and activating the role of universities in supporting sustainable development and responding to contemporary challenges.
