Al-najaf: Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf International Airport announced today, Sunday, the suspension of all commercial flights until Thursday morning. An airport’s media office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “The airport will be completely closed to all commercial flights for operational reasons.”

According to Iraqi News Agency, the statement detailed that the closure will begin on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 3:00 PM local time (12:00 PM UTC), and will reopen on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 4:00 AM local time (1:00 AM UTC). The statement further clarified, “The airport will not be available as an alternative airport for any flights during this period.”
