Al-qaim: The Al-Qaim Antiquities Inspectorate has undertaken a field inspection tour of the Shari’at al-Ghazal archaeological site in the Al-Ubaidi district to evaluate its current condition. The inspection aimed to ensure the preservation and integrity of this significant historical site.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, this initiative was directed by Ali Ubaid Shalgham, Head of the General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage, with close oversight from Ammar Ali, the Anbar Antiquities and Heritage Inspector. The tour focused on monitoring the site’s status and identifying any encroachments or violations that could compromise its integrity.
The inspection highlighted the critical need for ongoing field monitoring of archaeological and heritage sites. This is essential to protect and preserve sites of historical and cultural significance, ensuring that they maintain their value for future generations.
