Baghdad: Al-Rusafa police forces arrested parties involved in a fight with blunt instruments that resulted in the death of a doctor. The police command stated in a press release that on Friday, February 13, 2026, Al-Fadhiliya police station received a report of a fight between two parties in Al-Mashtal area. Patrols immediately went to the scene, where they brought the situation under control and arrested all those involved.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the injured man, Dr. Arshad Ahmed, who was assaulted during the altercation, was taken to the hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries. The investigation revealed that the fight stemmed from a dispute over concrete pouring.

The suspects were detained at the police station under Article 405 of the Penal Code, and the necessary legal procedures are being taken against them.
