Baghdad: The Baghdad Rusafa Police Command, via its Al-Nahrawan patrol unit, arrested a man accused of online extortion on Thursday. The arrest followed a report received by the Response and Control Department about a girl being extorted through social media.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a press release that an ambush was set up to capture the suspect. The suspect was pursued and arrested after he attempted to flee through alleyways. He was subsequently handed over to the police station for the necessary legal procedures.
