Al-Sadr comments on the gatherings in celebrating the New Year’s Day

Najaf The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, expressed his regret over the large gatherings that took place under the pretext of celebrating the New Year.

Al-Sadr said in the text of a lengthy tweet to him in this regard: We see huge celebrations every New Year’s Eve… and this continued even after the spread of the pandemic that requires social distancing and health protection. These gatherings are outside the scope of legal, moral, ethical, social and other protection. Even if I, like myself, are among the clergy, as they express. We hastened to ban these gatherings or criticize them, we would have been the subject of sharp criticism from some boys or some liberals in an irrational way, but we do not see that stinging criticism directed at some countries The Europeans who banned gatherings and celebrations for their New Year due to the spreading epidemic, isn’t the epidemic itself rampant in our beloved Iraq!? Or are the health measures not less in our beloved Iraq, and therefore it is necessary that we (follow the example of the West) in preventing them from celebrating!? Or do we imitate them in their madness and their liberal habits, and not be imitated by their scientific, practical, health applications, and so on.

We, as legislators, have prohibited many religious gatherings, such as Friday and congregational prayers, and visits to the infallibles, although some of them, unfortunately, do not reach the same number as the New Year’s gatherings in terms of numbers. Except, if the provisions of the religion have flexibility in not being applied in the event of harm, and even must be prevented, then what is the case of such useless gatherings? If there is something that can benefit from these gatherings, it is the discharge of negative energy as they express, but that energy does not empty it with a negative energy greater than it and uglier, so negative energy will come out to be replaced by a distorted, degrading energy that eats away at the body, soul, mind, heart and in general… So have mercy on your bodies earthly from the epidemic if you do not fear the punishment of the hereafter .. Oh God, I have informed. The mentor to you Muqtada al-Sadr.
