Al-Sadr Instructs His Followers To Halt Protest Movements, Even On Election Day

Baghdad: The leader of the Sadrist Movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, has instructed his followers to halt all protest activities starting Thursday, June 11th, and continuing until Election Day. This directive was issued during his remarks on various activities presented to him.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sadr specifically instructed his followers to cease all protest rallies until Election Day, emphasizing, “From now on… I mean until election day, there is no need for any rallies, please.” Furthermore, al-Sadr commended the tribal gatherings that have been held in solidarity with the decision to boycott the elections.
