Karbala: Muqtada al-Sadr, leader of the Sadrist Movement, has praised the conclusion of the Arba'een pilgrimage in Karbala and called for renewed efforts to commemorate the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) death by visiting the shrine of Imam Ali (AS) in Najaf. Al-Sadr delivered his remarks during a religious address broadcasted via the X app.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sadr's address began with expressions of gratitude for various blessings bestowed upon the Iraqi people and the nation's role in hosting the pilgrimage. He acknowledged the significance of Imam Hussein (AS) as a spiritual focal point for believers and the city of Karbala as a revered destination for pilgrims. The statement also highlighted the dedication of Iraqis in welcoming and serving pilgrims from outside the country during the Arba'een pilgrimage.

Al-Sadr emphasized that the Arba'een pilgrimage has become a symbol of resistance against colonialists, normalizers, and terrorists. He urged followers to honor the prophetic tradition on the anniversary of the Prophet's death by visiting the shrine of Imam Ali in Najaf al-Ashraf. He described the visit as an essential duty for the Shi'a community and advocated for public demonstrations of faith through processions, mourning ceremonies, and the display of black banners.

The address called for unity and support for the Messenger and Imam, encouraging followers to stand firm in their beliefs without fear or hesitation. Al-Sadr concluded by extending peace to those who have visited Imam Hussein and urged them to complete their spiritual journey by visiting Najaf on the Prophet's death anniversary.

In his message, al-Sadr reiterated the importance of maintaining the traditions and rituals that honor the spiritual heritage of the Shi'a community, urging believers to rise in support and solidarity.
