Kirkuk: The Head of the Turkmen bloc, MP Arshad Al-Salhi, has raised concerns over the security situation in Kirkuk, calling for an urgent investigation into recent attacks on the city’s airport.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Salhi issued a statement highlighting the severity of the security lapses, citing recent incidents involving drones and Katyusha rockets targeting Kirkuk airport. He described these events as a significant indicator of the security vulnerabilities within the province.
Al-Salhi emphasized the mysterious nature of the attacks, pointing out that it remains unclear where the drones are being launched from and why they have not been detected, despite the presence of radars at the military airport. He stressed that these unresolved questions necessitate an immediate and transparent security investigation to address the potential threats facing Kirkuk.
