Al-Samarrai and Australian Ambassador Discuss Regional Developments and Cooperation


Samarra: The Head of the Azm Alliance, Muthanna Al-Samarrai, met with the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Glenn Miles, at his office in Samarra. Their discussion focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Australia across multiple sectors.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Samarrai informed the Australian ambassador about the plans for implementing the law designating Samarra as the capital of Iraq for Islamic civilization. He emphasized the project’s significance in preserving the city’s cultural heritage and enhancing its historical and religious importance. Al-Samarrai, who leads the committee responsible for this initiative, highlighted the project’s potential impact.



The conversation also covered the current regional situation, with discussions on promoting political stability, addressing the developments in the Palestinian issue, and the ongoing transformations in Syria. Both parties acknowledged the necessity of finding solutions to ensure stability in these areas.



The Australian Ambassador expressed his country’s commitment to strengthening ties with Iraq. He reiterated Australia’s support for Iraq’s endeavors to promote regional stability, indicating a shared interest in fostering lasting peace and cooperation.
