Baghdad: The head of Azm Alliance, Muthanna Al-Samarrai, received the British Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hitchen, at his office in Baghdad. The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom, exploring ways to enhance cooperation across various fields, and addressing significant regional challenges impacting the stability of the region.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions covered political and economic issues of mutual interest, with both parties emphasizing the importance of increased coordination to tackle regional challenges. Such collaboration is seen as crucial for stabilizing regional conditions, thereby fostering a safe environment conducive to development and progress.
The meeting also highlighted the significance of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani’s visit to Britain earlier this month. Al-Samarrai underscored the importance of following up on the visit’s outcomes, aiming to build on them to achieve the shared interests of Iraq and the United Kingdom.
Al-Samarrai reiterated the necessity of ongoing dialogue and cooperation with international partners. He noted that coordination with the United Kingdom is a vital step in supporting Iraq’s efforts to address current challenges and achieve political and social stability.
