Baghdad: Head of the Azm Alliance, Muthanna al-Samarrai, met today at his office with the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Akira Endo, to discuss prospects for developing cooperation between Iraq and Japan, particularly in the areas of investment, reconstruction, and support for infrastructure projects.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, al-Samarrai expressed his gratitude to the Japanese government, commending its efforts in the development project related to the Japanese loan. He also praised Japan's humanitarian role in supporting Iraq and the assistance programs it has provided for years.

The statement added that the meeting addressed the latest developments in the region and their impact on security and development, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the partnership between the two countries and continuing coordination to support efforts for stability and economic development, and to enhance the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples.
