Al-Shammari: The stability and tranquility of Iraq and the region depends on the real implementation of the Saudi-Iranian agreement

Baghdad The head of the Center for Political Thinking, Ihsan Al-Shammari, confirmed: The stability and tranquility of Iraq and the region depends on the real implementation of the Saudi-Iranian agreement.

He told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): The success of the Saudi-Iranian framework agreement depends on Iran specifically and the extent of its commitment to the agreement, especially by not interfering in the internal affairs of the countries of the region and stopping threats.

Al-Shammari added: It is possible that the agreement will be an important factor in stability, and there is a possibility that differences will occur on some issues, and some countries will continue to be confused by Iran’s negative interference in its internal affairs.

He explained: If this agreement is completed and the differences are resolved according to an agenda linked to specific times, there will be calm in the region and political stability that opens wide scope for economic development, especially in Iraq.

Al-Shammari stressed: The importance of the success of the agreement in Iraq is very important for some forces to reconsider their calculations, and for the link to be largely with the interests of Iraq and its political and security stability, and to avoid attacking this or that party in order to reinforce Iraq’s policy of non-interference in internal affairs.

Last Friday, Iran and Saudi Arabia, with Chinese mediation, signed an agreement on resuming diplomatic relations.

The embassies of the two countries are scheduled to open within two months.

A joint statement was signed after several days of talks between the head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and his Saudi counterpart in Beijing.
