Cairo: The Syrian presidency announced on Sunday that the President of the Syrian Arab Republic in the transitional phase, Ahmed al-Shara, has received an invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to attend the emergency Arab summit scheduled to be held in Egypt on March 4.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the official statement highlighted that President al-Shara was extended an official invitation by President al-Sisi to take part in the emergency meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States, which is set to take place in Cairo on March 4, 2025.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry earlier disclosed on Tuesday that the emergency Arab summit on Gaza, originally planned for the coming week, has been postponed to March 4. The postponement aims to allow for the completion of “objective preparations” necessary for the summit.
The ministry emphasized that the primary reason for any potential delay is Egypt’s desire to ensure maximum leader attendance, which is deemed crucial for the summit’s success. The ministry underscored that the reasons for rescheduling are strictly logistical.
