Al-sharaa: Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa announced that Syria is “in the process of negotiations and discussions with Israel regarding a security agreement.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a television interview with Al-Ikhbariya channel, al-Sharaa stated: “Negotiations are underway on a security agreement to return to the 1974 agreement or something similar, and these negotiations have not yet concluded.”
He explained that “Israel wanted Syria to be a state in conflict with a regional state, and an arena for ongoing conflict and settling of scores.” He noted: “Israel had a plan to divide Syria and wanted it to be an arena for conflict with the Iranians or something similar, and was surprised by the fall of the regime.”
He pointed out: “Tel Aviv considered the fall of the regime as Syria’s withdrawal from the 1974 agreement, even though Damascus had expressed its commitment to it from the first moment.”
