Al-Sudani Affirms Iraq’s Rejection of Sovereignty Violations

Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has asserted Iraq’s firm stance against any violation of its sovereignty and airspace, labeling such actions as flagrant breaches of international law. This declaration came during a phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussion between Al-Sudani and Erdogan revolved around regional developments, with both leaders emphasizing the need for coordination on various issues. They agreed on the importance of unified efforts to bolster regional security and stability.

During the call, both leaders condemned the Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran. They noted that the Zionist entity’s attempts to escalate and broaden the conflict necessitate a unified stance from all countries, particularly Islamic nations, to counteract the entity’s aggressive tactics.

Prime Minister Al-Sudani reiterated Iraq’s unwavering rejection of any incursions into its airspace, underscoring such actions as clear violations of international law. He also expressed Iraq’s backing for a proposed meeting of Foreign Ministers from Islamic countries in Istanbul to address the recent regional developments.

Turkish President Erdogan, on his part, reaffirmed his support for Iraq’s sovereignty. He praised the Iraqi government’s endeavors to uphold sovereignty and prevent the nation from becoming embroiled in broader conflicts.
