Baghdad: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met with Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, to discuss efforts to reach a political agreement that would finalize the election of the president in Parliament. A statement from his media office indicated that al-Sudani met with al-Maliki on Wednesday to review the overall situation and the progress of understandings and dialogues among national forces to fulfill constitutional entitlements.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting also addressed the positions of political blocs and the efforts underway to reach a political agreement that would complete the election of the president in Parliament and proceed with the remaining constitutional entitlements. The government will also continue to meet the demands of providing services and development and strengthening the national economy.
