Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met with Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani to discuss key issues affecting Iraq. They focused on the country’s political and economic climate, with particular attention to the impact of regional developments, including the ongoing Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its potential repercussions on Iraq’s security and stability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, both leaders expressed their condemnation of the Zionist aggression and rejected any violations of Iraq’s sovereignty and airspace. They emphasized the importance of national unity and the necessity to support governmental measures to take legal action through international and UN bodies to uphold Iraq’s sovereignty and protect its airspace. The meeting also highlighted the government’s commitment to efforts that promote stability across the nation.

Additionally, Al-Sudani and Al-Mashhadani underscored the need for continued cooperation between the executive and legislative branches of government. They stressed the importance of swiftly passing legislation that aligns with development plans and improves services for Iraqi citizens. Furthermore, they reiterated their support for ensuring that preparations for the upcoming elections in November proceed as scheduled.
