Baghdad: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received a phone call from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday. The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a press release that the conversation between the two leaders focused on bilateral relations and the development of cooperation across various fields, with particular emphasis on the strategic development road project due to its significant economic and investment potential.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, both leaders underscored the importance of staying alert to regional and international developments. They agreed on the necessity for joint security coordination to combat the remnants of terrorism and to ensure the reinforcement of regional security.
Furthermore, al-Sudani and Erdogan highlighted the importance of maintaining dialogue and seeking peaceful solutions to conflicts. They expressed a mutual desire to prevent conflict escalation and to protect the region and its people from the perils of war.
