Doha: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the need for collaborative Arab and Islamic efforts to address the ongoing violations and attacks by the occupying entity against Palestinians in Gaza and other Arab nations. This was highlighted during their meeting on the sidelines of the emergency Arab-Islamic summit held in Doha.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s media office issued a statement detailing the discussions between al-Sudani and Erdogan. The leaders addressed regional developments and reinforced the importance of joint Arab and Islamic initiatives to counter the ongoing aggressions. The discussion also touched upon the attack on Qatar, underscoring the urgency of unified action.
The statement further revealed that the meeting explored the prospects for enhancing bilateral relations between Iraq and Turkey across various sectors. Prime Minister al-Sudani expressed gratitude to President Erdogan for his cooperation in addressing the water crisis impacting Iraq and the region. Meanwhile, President Erdogan lauded Iraq’s significant role in resolving regional issues and its commitment to the security of neighboring countries, notably its support for the peace agreement between Turkey and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party.
