Al-Sudani Announces Foundation Stone Laying for Arab Investor Hospital in Baghdad


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced that today will witness the laying of the foundation stone for a hospital owned by an Arab investor in Baghdad. In a speech he delivered on Sunday while sponsoring the first conference of the Health Insurance Authority, al-Sudani emphasized the importance of such projects in demonstrating the government’s commitment to prioritizing healthcare.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani stated, “These projects provide a clear indication of the government’s work paths in prioritizing healthcare.” He further highlighted the government’s focus on health services, which are at the top of their priorities. The government has taken steps towards localizing the pharmaceutical industry and supporting local producers.



Al-Sudani also mentioned that the coverage rate of locally produced medicines has exceeded 40%, and he noted that health insurance represents a reformative step and a restructuring of the philosophy of the health system in Iraq.
