Baghdad: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani revealed a governmental plan to expand Baghdad’s internal and external connectivity through the construction of the Fourth and Fifth Ring Roads, as part of a comprehensive vision to enhance infrastructure and drive development.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during a meeting with tribal and community leaders from Al-Kadhimiya, Al-Shu’la, Al-Hurriya, and other neighborhoods in the Karkh side of Baghdad, Al-Sudani stated, ‘Transitioning to the construction of new cities and achieving sustainable development is not possible without essential service projects.’ He noted that districts and surrounding areas of Baghdad-such as Sab’a Al-Bor, Al-Nahrawan, Al-Wahda, and Al-Rasheed-have been included in all infrastructure development plans.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of maintaining stability to ensure the continuation of reconstruction and development efforts, adding, ‘We have paid a high price to achieve this stability.’

He also pointed out that the rehabilitation of the former “Fifth Division” site in Al-Kadhimiya will mark a significant transformation for the city, and announced the construction of a new bridge toward Al-Kuraiaat to ease traffic congestion and reduce pressure on existing roads.
