Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced the release of Russian citizen Elizabeth Tsurkov. Al-Sudani revealed this development through a tweet on the “X” website, highlighting the culmination of extensive efforts by Iraqi security services over several months.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Prime Minister al-Sudani emphasized the commitment of Iraqi authorities to uphold the law and protect the state’s authority. He stated that Iraq will not tolerate any actions that harm the reputation of the country and its citizens. Elizabeth Tsurkov’s release follows her kidnapping in late March 2023 in Baghdad.
