Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani emphasized Iraq’s commitment to maintaining a balanced path to prevent the spread of conflict in the region.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani made these remarks during the 7th Baghdad International Dialogue, organized by the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue. He stated that Iraq has adhered to the principle of balance in its international positions, playing a crucial role in maintaining stability in the region, with the exception of its support for the Palestinian cause. He highlighted the events of October 7 as significant regarding the Palestinian people’s right to life and existence.
Al-Sudani further noted Iraq’s efforts in fostering dialogue internally and externally. He mentioned the success in initiating dialogues, most notably between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and highlighted the completion of the international coalition’s mission through dialogue, transitioning to bilateral relations amidst complex political circumstances. Al-Sudani reiterated that dialogue is the government’s approach to addressing internal issues, acknowledging the significant challenges faced by the government both domestically and internationally.
