Baghdad: Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, chaired an emergency security meeting on Sunday. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, the Commander of Baghdad Operations, and officers from the security force that responded to an attack on a Ministry of Agriculture office in the Karkh district of Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of not being complacent in upholding the law and protecting state institutions. He urged for a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the attack, noting that the incident occurred without prior security approval.

Al-Sudani insisted that those responsible for the attack should be held accountable in accordance with applicable laws. He called for the investigation to be conducted with professionalism, aligning with the regulations to which the armed forces are committed, and under his direct supervision. Al-Sudani reiterated that no entity has the right to usurp the authority of the state and that no party is exempt from the law.
