Baghdad: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, praised the security and service efforts for the Arbaeen pilgrimage and directed strengthening of visitor transportation plans. During his visit to the Joint Operations Command headquarters in Baghdad, Al-Sudani stressed the need to capitalize on the success of the Arbaeen pilgrimage and continue to organize the pilgrimage commemorating the death of the Great Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) in Najaf. He explained, “More than 4 million foreign visitors entered Iraq to participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage, and more than 3 million of them left the country.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, he emphasized the need to strengthen the transportation plan and ensure close monitoring of the transfer of visitors from the holy provinces of Karbala and Najaf to other provinces. He also directed the preparation of airports and border crossings and the mobilization of all employees to facilitate the departure of foreign visitors.
