Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani praised Iraqi clans and tribes, highlighting their role as a fundamental social component in the establishment of the modern Iraqi state. His media office stated that he received several senior sheikhs and tribal leaders in Iraq on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani extended his Eid greetings to all Iraqis and the distinguished guests, expressing hopes for an end to the ordeal faced by Gaza and its people due to ongoing aggression. He emphasized that the government has been actively addressing the challenges of this phase by setting priorities that reflect citizens’ concerns, focusing government actions on these issues. He noted that many problems have been tackled through a clear government vision that addresses the challenges comprehensively.

Al-Sudani pointed out that efforts to correct mismanagement and planning errors have led to a resurgence in work areas, putting them back on track. He mentioned the implementation of important economic reforms and the activation of economic sectors parallel to oil, which have resulted in the export of 80 Iraqi-manufactured goods.

He further highlighted Iraq’s potential as an economic corridor that could serve global trade and the countries of the region. He expressed optimism that the path of development would lead to a New Iraq that is more inclusive and sustainable.

Al-Sudani reaffirmed the government’s commitment to Iraq’s position on various issues and the independence of its political decision-making. He emphasized Iraq’s significant role in the region, stating that the country’s supreme interests are prioritized in regional events.

He concluded by affirming Iraq’s support for Lebanon and Palestine and emphasized the nation’s belief in partnership with regional countries, asserting that no external forces impose their convictions on Iraq.
