Baghdad: Today’s newspapers focus on Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s pledge to continue on the path of reform and restore confidence in Iraqi airspace, alongside initiatives to improve the environment and tackle pollution.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sabah newspaper reported that al-Sudani emphasized the government’s commitment to reform and the development of a strong Iraq, honoring the sacrifices made before and after 2003. During a meeting with the “Loyalty to the Martyrs” Association, he highlighted that martyrdom is foundational to Iraq’s radical changes and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to preserving the legacy of the martyrs and fostering social cohesion.

Regarding Iraqi airspace, Al-Zawraa newspaper indicated that international air traffic has intensified, signaling renewed confidence and positioning Iraq as a strategic air corridor. The government is advancing waste treatment and energy generation projects, including the groundbreaking waste-to-electricity initiative in Baghdad. This effort, in collaboration with a Chinese company, aims to convert 6,000 tons of waste into 100 megawatts of electricity, significantly benefiting the city’s power grid and environmental health.

Uday al-Jandil, Baghdad Municipality’s spokesperson, detailed ongoing environmental projects, including afforestation efforts and the Green Belt project in Abu Ghraib. These initiatives involve extensive tree planting campaigns and converting waste to energy, underscoring the government’s commitment to sustainable development and pollution mitigation.
