Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani sent a congratulatory cable to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday on the occasion of Victory Day. In the cable, al-Sudani emphasized the depth of relations between Iraq and the Russian Federation and the importance of continuing bilateral cooperation in all fields to serve the interests of the peoples of the two friendly countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the message from al-Sudani underscored the historical ties between the two nations and reiterated Iraq’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic partnerships with Russia. The communication also expressed Iraq’s appreciation for the longstanding friendship and mutual support shared between the two countries.
