Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani congratulated the Kurdistan Democratic Party on its 79th founding anniversary on Saturday. His media office stated in a statement, "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani congratulated the Kurdistan Democratic Party on the occasion of its 79th founding anniversary."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a congratulatory cable sent to the Head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani, the Prime Minister recalled "the struggle of the Democratic Party and its fundamental role, along with national forces and parties of various currents and orientations, in combating dictatorship and contributing to building a new democratic Iraq," stressing "the importance of continuing efforts to preserve the gains achieved for all our honorable people."
