Babylon: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed: “Babylon is eligible to be the industrial capital of Iraq.” In a speech during his sponsorship of the ceremony announcing Babylon as the Industrial Capital of Iraq, al-Sudani said: “We have an industrial renaissance in all Iraqi governorates, and Babylon has the opportunity to create integration between agriculture and industry.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani highlighted that Babylon, known for its rich civilization and history, is now recognized as the industrial capital of Iraq. He emphasized the presence of a bold and capable private sector in Babylon, which is crucial for establishing factories that can produce export-worthy products for neighboring countries.
The Prime Minister further explained that the Iraqi market has been intentionally saturated by foreign countries, but there is a noticeable production boom domestically. This growth, both in quantity and quality, has enabled Iraqi products to meet local consumption demands.
