Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has directed the completion of service projects within the specified timeframes in Maysan Governorate. His media office announced that Al-Sudani met with Maysan Governor Habib Dhaher Al-Fartousi, Chairman of the Provincial Council Mustafa Da’ir Al-Muhammadawi, and other members of the Provincial Council, alongside several advisors, to discuss the ongoing developments.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing the service, security, and economic conditions in the governorate, alongside the key projects underway in various districts and sub-districts. Al-Sudani emphasized the need to adhere to the specified timelines for projects, particularly those concerning water and sewage systems in the governorate center and its administrative units. Additional directives included the initiation of five main bridges on the Tigris River, the development of main and secondary roads between districts and sub-districts, the establishment of a College of Medicine building affiliated with Maysan University, and the submission of a design for a new university city.

Discussions also covered strategies to enhance security stability in the province, highlighting its significance in boosting the economic landscape by supporting investment and development. This environment aims to expand private sector activities, generate new job opportunities, and attract investors to execute strategic projects like the Maysan refinery with a capacity of 150,000 barrels per day, a petrochemical plant, and the construction of Amara International Airport.

Al-Sudani underscored the necessity of maximizing efforts to implement the government’s plans, stressing the importance of collaboration between local government and the provincial council. This integration is crucial to ensuring the success of administrative duties, improving service delivery, and enhancing the living conditions for citizens.
