Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has issued a directive for the establishment of an Iraqi hospital in Gaza.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office confirmed the directive, highlighting al-Sudani’s meeting with Iraqi doctor Mohammed Taher Abu Raghif, known as the “Ambassador of Humanity.” During the meeting, al-Sudani emphasized the significance of Dr. Abu Raghif’s humanitarian efforts towards Gaza, describing them as a source of pride for Iraqis and reflective of the nation’s principles towards the Palestinian people and their struggle.

As a gesture of gratitude for Dr. Abu Raghif’s humanitarian contributions, al-Sudani ordered the provision of a residential unit in central Baghdad and a diplomatic passport for the doctor. Furthermore, the Prime Minister reiterated Iraq’s commitment to humanitarian principles by directing the establishment of the hospital in Gaza, aimed at supporting the resilience of the Palestinian population.

Dr. Abu Raghif expressed his gratitude for the Prime Minister’s support and acknowledged the official and popular efforts in assisting Gaza, appreciating the ongoing efforts and initiatives undertaken in the past.
