Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani stressed the importance of Syria’s stability and what it represents for Iraqi national security. During his reception, on Wednesday, of a delegation from the Shiite Islamic Scholars Authority in Syria, headed by Sheikh Adham al-Khatib, al-Sudani stressed the importance of the participation of all Spectra of the Syrian people in establishing a state based on the principle of citizenship, preserving the unity of Syrian territory and sovereignty, and condemning any violation thereof.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting reviewed developments in Syria and emphasized support for efforts aimed at spreading a culture of reconciliation and peaceful coexistence, and strengthening stability and social peace.
