Baghdad: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, highlighted the strategic importance of Baghdad International Airport, calling for its necessary rehabilitation and development to enhance services and generate revenues.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani made these remarks during a meeting with representatives from a coalition of six companies interested in rehabilitating, developing, and operating Baghdad International Airport. The meeting also included the presence of the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Al-Sudani emphasized Iraq’s advantageous geographical position, which encourages investment in air transport, aircraft transit, and passenger services.

The prime minister further noted that Iraq is currently drawing significant Arab and foreign investments across various sectors, which have surpassed $100 billion in just two years of the current government’s tenure.
