Al-Sudani Highlights Iraqi Determination Amid Challenges

Baghdad: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani affirmed that the will of the Iraqi people is stronger than all challenges, stressing that terrorism has failed to undermine the unity and diversity of the country. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Great Al-Tahira Church of the Syriac Catholics in Mosul, Al-Sudani said: ‘The terrorist attacks that targeted churches and mosques clearly revealed the destructive intentions of Iraq’s enemies.’ He added that the reconstruction of houses of worship embodies the determination to live in peaceful coexistence.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, he noted that ‘Mosul, the city of Assyrian, Christian, and Islamic civilization, is rising again with its inclusive identity,’ emphasizing that religious and social diversity represents the solid shield protecting Iraq’s security and sovereignty. The Prime Minister pointed out that ‘the Great Al-Tahira Church, which extremists once sought to extinguish, now stands as a testament to the authenticity of the Christian presence in Iraq and the city’s revival from under the rubble.’
