Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani expressed gratitude to the people of Sheikh Marouf and acknowledged the efforts that contributed to the completion of the Al-Tala'i' - al-Baijiah Bridge. This infrastructure aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Baghdad, marking a significant development for the city's transportation network.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister's Office announced that Al-Sudani inaugurated the Al-Tala'i' - al-Baijiah Bridges and the Sheikh Marouf Mosque intersection on the Karkh side of Baghdad. This project is the 14th of 16 initiatives under the first package aimed at easing traffic congestion, all overseen by the Ministry of Construction and Housing.

The completed Talai'a Bridges serve as a crucial link between the Bab al-Muadham area and Al-Mansour, traversing Al-Muthanna Airport Street, the railways, and the Sheikh Ma'rouf Cemetery. The project is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in the Alawi area and along Damascus Street toward the Baghdad International Fair. The bridges span a total length of 7,623 meters, and a newly constructed 1,000-meter street diverts traffic from the Talai'a Bridge to the Baijiya Bridge, further directing vehicles to Al-Liqa'a Square and Abu Ja'far al-Mansour Square over an 800-meter stretch.

During his visit, the Prime Minister performed the Maghrib prayer at the Sheikh Ma'rouf Mosque and underscored the honor of visiting the site of a revered saint known for his spirituality. He emphasized the bridge's role in facilitating smoother traffic flow and extended his gratitude to the local residents for their cooperation. He also praised the workers, supporting agencies, and the implementing company for their dedication to the project.

Al-Sudani remarked that Iraq is undergoing widespread development, with projects extending from Basra to Mosul, highlighting the government's commitment over the past three years to infrastructure improvement. He credited the nation's current security and stability to the sacrifices made by the Iraqi people in overcoming terrorism and divisive challenges.
